Human capital is the ability and efficiency of people to transform raw materials and capital into goods and services. Studies show that individuals with more education tend to have better employment opportunities, greater earnings, and produce more output than those who are less educated. To this effect, it’s deemed as an investment, equipping individuals with knowledge and skills that improve their employability and productive capacities.
Human Capital Development plays a fundamental role in poverty reduction and sustained growth of an economy, both in macro and micro economics perspective. Human capital is regarded at the macro level as a key factor of production, improving labor productivity; facilitates technological innovations; increases returns to capital; and makes growth more sustainable, which, in turn, supports poverty reduction. From a microeconomic perspective, education increases the probability of being employed in the labor market and improves earnings capacity.
DDG advocates and is actively engaged in improvement of livelihood, communities and socio-economic standard through accumulation of Human Capital.
